The Frankfurter Personenlexikon (FP) is a reference work with short biographies of deceased persons who shaped the city of Frankfurt am Main, its history, culture and society. It is based on the Frankfurter Biographie (FB), which was published in two volumes by Verlag Waldemar Kramer in 1994/96. This book edition, which contains around 2,500 personal articles, is hereby re-edited and continued online. From very few groups of persons, all representatives are included in the Frankfurter Personenlexikon. This applies to the honorary citizens of the City of Frankfurt, the mayors since 1866, as well as the Goethe Prize and Peace Prize winners (although in these cases, too, only deceased persons are to be considered). The Frankfurter Personenlexikon is still under construction. New articles will be published every month, from which the complete reference work will gradually be compiled.
