Fachinformationsdienst Biodiversitätsforschung

The specialist information service (FID) Biodiversity Research (BIOFID) provides current and historical literature on biodiversity in contemporary formats for the scientists active in research. In addition to the procurement of literature and national provision, the FID also includes services for the text mining of data from biodiversity literature and the digitization of literature, especially the 20th century, and a platform for open access magazines. In addition, the Global Plants database is provided nationwide for specialized institutions. The FID, which covers a sub-area of the former special collection area of biology, is operated by the University Library Johann Christian Senckenberg in Frankfurt as well as the Senckenberg Society for Natural Research and the AG Text Technology at the Institute for Computer Science at the Goethe University Frankfurt.
