Historical Reviews Online is a search engine focused on historical reviews, provided by Clio Online. It only takes into account reviews that have been published online on the web and are available in full text without access restrictions.
With the help of the various search options, the full text of the reviews of a large number of providers can be searched in parallel. The list of results thus shows all reviews of a title that have been indexed. For this purpose, Historische Rezensionen Online cooperates with renowned international institutions, journals and review providers with many years of experience in the field of historical information and electronic media. The contents of the following providers can be searched through the cooperation with the partners: Archiv für Sozialgeschichte Online − Bryn Mawr Classical Review − Die Zeit (through Perlentaucher) − Die Welt (through Perlentaucher) − EH.Net − Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (through Perlentaucher) − Frankfurter Rundschau (through Perlentaucher) − H−Net Reviews − H−Soz−u−Kult − IASLonline − The Medieval Review − Neue Zürcher Nachrichten (through Perlentaucher) − Osteuropa−Institut Berlin − Reviews in History − Perlentaucher − Plekos − Sehepunkte − Süddeutsche Zeitung (through Perlentaucher) − taz (through Perlentaucher) − Vierteljahrshefte für Zeitgeschichte (through Sehepunkte) − Wissenschaftlicher Literaturanzeiger.

For current reviews in printed scientific journals, an established reference system has been available for some time in the form of the IBR (Internationale Bibliographie der Rezensionen).
