The database includes scientific literature on comics, graphic novels and manga, especially in German and English. Unpublished university publications (diploma and master's theses, dissertations, etc.) are not included if they are not accessible on the Internet, as are (with a few exceptions) articles in fan magazines and daily newspapers. Works on caricature and animation (cartoons) as well as those with a focus on didactic topics or on acquiring or improving reading skills have not yet been systematically recorded.
