Empire Online

The collection contains essays, sources and data material in thematic groupings on the entire topic of colonialism and imperialism. For five thematic sections (Cultural Contacts, 1492-1969; Empire Writing & the Literature of Empire; The Visible Empire; Religion & Empire; Race, Class, Imperialism and Colonialism 1607-2007) there are introductory scientific contributions and links to relevant sources.

The Germany-wide access to the Empire Online database by Adam Matthew Digital is enabled by promoting the German Research Foundation (DFG) and organized by the Lower Saxony State and University Library of Göttingen. From 2017 it will be accessed under a new surface of the Sub Göttingen.
