Kanopy is an on-demand streaming video service for educational institutions and provides access to thousands of films, documentaries and educational videos, primarily in English, across a wide range of topics.
Kanopy works directly with filmmakers and film distribution companies, offering, among other things: Material from the Media Education Foundation, PBS and the BBC.

The majority of the feature films from the Criterion Collection that are also on the platform are restricted to users from the USA and Canada for licensing reasons. Individual films are DRM (Digital Rights Management) protected. (As of: 03/2018)

To use Kanopy on a smartphone, you must download the Kanopy app. You will need to log in with a personal password (see instructions). After selecting LMU and entering your personal LMU user ID, you must set a password of your choice for Kanopy and click the link in the confirmation email. Further information is available on the help page https://help.kanopy.com/en-us/home.htm.
