Säuberung der Büchereien

Der Katalog gründet sich auf den Befehl Nr. 4 des alliierten Kontrollrats vom 13. Mai 1946, mit dem die "Einziehung von Literatur und Werken nationalsozialistischen und militaristischen Charakters" für alle Besatzungszonen angeordnet wurde, sowie auf die nordrhein-westfälischen Richtlinien zur Säuberung der Büchereien von politisch unerwünschter Literatur, die sich an den Kontrollrats-Befehl anschlossen.
Der auf diesen Befehl hin in den Jahren 1948 - 1951 entstandene Katalog umfasst rund 25.000 Datensätze nationalsozialistischer Literatur sowie deren aktuelle Bestandsnachweise.
