Help

The Database Information System (DBIS) is a collaboratively organized online service for accessing scholarly databases. DBIS offers

  • information on 14,000 academic databases in all subject areas, including 6,000 freely accessible ones
  • an overview of freely accessible databases and databases licensed by the relevant organization
  • intuitive, organization-specific user and administrator interfaces in German and English
  • uniform access to fee-based and freely accessible databases via the organization-specific user interface
  • traffic light symbols visualizing accessibility in the respective organization

A video tutorial provides guidance on searching for databases in DBIS.

Currently, over 400 participating organizations use DBIS.

DBIS is part of UR Library Services, along with the Electronic Journals Library (EZB) and the Regensburger Verbundklassifikation (RVK).
