The Großdiathek IKARE contains approximately 20,000 digitized large diapositive (black and white, 8x10 cm) from the first half of the 20th century of works of art and architectures of the Middle Ages, modern times and modernity. The oldest slides go back to the nineties of the 19th century, in which the Hallesche Historian Gustav Droysen experimented with the demonstration of photographs. The main stock dates from the following years to around 1961.
