Eighteenth Century Journals / ECJ I & II

The collection contains the full texts of over 150 popular 18th century journals published in Great Britain. The journals have been selected from the holdings of the Hope Collection of the Bodleian Library, Oxford, and the collection of the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center (based on the bibliography by Powell Stewart: British Newspapers and Periodicals, 1632-1800. A Descriptive Catalogue of a Collection at the University of Texas, Austin 1950). Most of the editions selected are not already available in other 18th century resources such as EEBO, ECCO or Early English Newspapers.
