Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man (OMIM) is a continually updated catalog of human genes, genetic diseases and traits with a focus on the relationship between genotype and phenotype. The entries describe either genes or genetically determined phenotypes and are given a unique, stable MIM number. Entries include information on inheritance, typical clinical symptoms, underlying mutations, molecular genetic findings and relevant literature. The content is curated by experts (mainly at Johns Hopkins University) based on biomedical literature.
