In WISIA-online sind Informationen zum Schutzstatus von international und national geschützten Arten abrufbar. Es handelt sich hierbei um Arten, die nach den Deutschland geltenden Artenschutzregelungen geschützt sind.
Der Datenbank sind folgende Regelwerke zugrunde gelegt worden:

Bundesartenschutzverordnung
Vogelschutzrichtlinie
FFH-Richtlinie
EG-Verordnung 1332/05
Washingtoner Artenschutzübereinkommen
BNAtSchG

Gesucht werden kann nach Artnamen (lateinisch und deutsch), sowie nach taxonomischen Gruppen.
