FID Materials Science

The FID Materials Science is a modularly structured portal for matWerk research (materials science and materials technology), which is operated and further developed by the Saxon State Library, State and University Library Dresden (SLUB) and the Technical Information Library - Leibniz Information Center Technology and Natural Sciences and University Library Hannover (TIB). The FID Materials Science pursues the goal of supporting the Matwerk researchers through targeted offers in finding characteristics and textual knowledge as well as in networking with each other and with partners from industry. For this purpose, an innovative online service portal is being developed in which new service offers and web services are continuously offered, as well as established infrastructure and service offers. The following points are the focus:

The further development of the material hub platform, which linked, enriched, and made heterogeneous and scattered MatWerk data (characteristic values and textual information) from industrial and research intuitively discoverable.
In addition, a guide to external specialist information sources is developed
as well as an interactive research map for the networking and cooperation of the matwerk players
