The database contains the pamphlets that make up the Charles W. Wason collection, which is held in the Carl A. Kroch Library at Cornell University. The pamphlets, most of which are in English, were published between c. 1750 and 1929. The approximately 12,000 copies in 220 volumes make up one of the most extensive collections of literature on China in the Western world. Included are addresses and speeches, annual reports, essays, letters and magazines as well as other material on Chinese history, culture and everyday life. The resource is full-text searchable and scans of the pamphlets are also available.
