The open-access database lists dissertations and theses worldwide from the early 20th century to the present. You can search by author, title, subject area and university.
In collaboration with BiblioLabs, EBSCO has integrated American Doctoral Theses into OpenDissertations.org and added metadata from other universities. The collection is regularly updated and expanded through new partnerships with colleges and universities around the world.
The more than 800,000 new Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETD) include a link to the full text of the thesis or dissertation - if available - which can be accessed free of charge in the repository of the respective university.
Included are:

US-American Dissertations: Theses and dissertations from 1902 to the present, including the digitized index of US-American dissertations from 1933 - 1955. Full texts can be found, for example, on OhioLINK, at the Rochester Institute of Technology and North Carolina State University.
British Dissertations: Full text available through linking to EThOS (lists dissertations from UK universities).
