The database offers bibliographical evidence of printed source texts on the history of archeology in Germany, Austria and Switzerland from the dissolution of the old empire until 1852. As a content -relevant literature, monographs, essays and magazines have been bibliographed over 3,562 (as of Feb.: Feb.: Feb.: 2023). Among them primary literature, which was printed from 1807 to 1852 and in which archaeological finds or practices are mentioned, secondary literature, in particular translations, commented reprints, editions, biographical contributions to authors of primary literature or scientific studies that are in direct relationship with the recorded primary literature.
Primary literature, which is available as a digitized, can be accessed directly via the link provided in the title data. The database is gradually supplemented.
