Umfassendes, interdisziplinäres Standardnachschlagewerk zur arabischen Sprachwissenschaft mit mehr als 500 ausführlichen Beiträgen von über 350 internationalen Fachwissenschaftlern, die die verschiedenen Sprachstufen des Arabischen wie Altarabisch, Klassisches Hocharabisch, Mittelarabisch, Modernes Hocharabisch und seine Dialekte behandeln. Der Online-Ausgabe liegt die von 2006 bis 2009 in vier Bänden und einem Indexband veröffentlichte Printausgabe zugrunde, der Inhalt wurde durch regelmäßige Updates erweitert. (Stand 2023: wohl keine weiteren Updates geplant)
