The database for historical statistics, created by the GESIS- Leibniz Institute for Social Sciences, data archive, contains time series (over 250,000) from various studies (2016: 360) on the historical statistics of Germany and German Economic and Social History. The database is structured and study-oriented, i.e. there are various topics, such as education and science, to which individual studies are assigned.
The online platform has the function of making time series from historical, economic and social science research accessible. In October 2021 the offer was moved to Safe. New studies are regularly imported into histat. Registration, use of histat and the download of data from histat are free of charge.
