The database Deutschsprachige illustrierte Handschriften des Mittelalters (German-language illustrated manuscripts of the Middle Ages) aims to describe all surviving manuscripts created up to about 1520 that contain German texts together with pictures. In total, it will contain about 2,500 manuscripts. It is based on the printed Katalog der deutschsprachigen illustrierten Handschriften des Mittelalters (KdiH, Catalogue of German-language illustrated manuscripts of the Middle Ages), which has been published by C.H.Beck since 1991 (to the project website). In comparison to the printed version, errors are corrected (in green colour), the format is standardised and links are provided. At present, the database comprises volumes 1−7 of the KdiH; it is being continuously expanded.
