The database presents the vernacular vocabulary of the continental-West Germanic tribal rights (= Leges barbarorum) in the state of processing it has achieved so far.
Its aim is to completely prepare and present the vernacular vocabulary from this source complex, which extends from the early 8th to the 11th century and shows a spatial spread across the entire West Germanic area, codicologically, philologically and grammatically.

The vernacular vocabulary of the following reading areas is recorded: Lex Alamannorum; Lex Baiuvariorum; Lex Francorum Chamavorum; Lex Frisionum; Leges Langobardorum; Lex Ribuaria; Lex Salica and Merovingian Capitularies; Lex Saxonum and Lex Thuringorum.
