DBIS - Wales related Fiction of the Romantic Period

This collection contains English -language national literature from 116 books on over 35,000 pages, which were originally published in the period of 1789 - 1834. The relationship between Wales and the British Union has recently been raised. Today, there is agreement among literary scholars that the novel of the Romantic Period played an important role in the development of a national identity in the then British Union, including Scotland and Ireland. Regardless of the birthplace of the respective author, the Wales-related content is the decisive selection criterion of the works in this collection, which contains the texts of 43 book titles / 116 books of 19 authors in 86 digital monographs. Furthermore, the texts of 8 book titles, which were published anonymously at the time, contain in 15 digital monographs. This collection was compiled by employees of the University of Cardiff, Wales, from literary stocks of the princely library Corvey. The e-books contain digitally improved facsimile pages of the historical book pages and also bookmarks to the relevant parts of a work.
