American Song Sheets : Broadsides and Song Sheets from Nineteenth-Century America

In the 1800s, publishers printed the lyrics to popular songs, without their melodies, on small sheets of paper called “song sheets,” “handbills,” or “broadsides.” These were often illustrated with a woodcut scene or portrait. The collection includes around 1,800 of these ephemeral sources from the 19th century.
