Mystik & Aszese des 16. - 19. Jahrhunderts

Collection of 949 writings of 414 authors from the 12th to 18th centuries from the subject areas of mysticism and Aszese from the Benedictine Abbey of St. Walburg in Eichstätt, published from 16 to the 19th century. The individual works are digitally facsimilated and are available in PDF format. Most writings are written in German, only 10% in Latin. Almost half of the works are translations, which reflects the high degree of cultural exchange between Germany, Italy, France, Spain and Portugal, especially in the 17th and 18th centuries.
The St. Walburg Abbey is one of the few monasteries that have survived the sacularization. The monastery library, the traces of which go back to the second half of the 15th century, has been fully preserved and is unique with regard to its unity.
