Ein Ziel von „Das Moderne Indien in Deutschen Archiven“ (MIDA) ist es, die Bestände deutscher Archive zur Geschichte des modernen Indiens und zur deutsch-indischen Verflechtungsgeschichte von 1706 bis 1989/90 systematisch in einer Datenbank zu erfassen und inhaltlich zu erschließen und diese Datenbank der internationalen Forschung zur Verfügung zu stellen.
