CINAHL Ultimate

CINAHL is the electronic form of the Cumulative Index to Nursing & Allied Health Literature. CINAHL Ultimate includes articles from over 6,500 nursing journals since 1937, and also analyses the publications of the American Nurses Association and the National League for Nursing. Furthermore, monographs, grey literature (mostly not published by publishers), AV materials, dissertations and selected congress reports on the subject of nursing and health sciences are included. CINAHL Ultimate provides full-text access to a large proportion of the most frequently cited journals in the CINAHL index. Of the journals indexed, 1,815 titles are active (as of April 2025). In total, the database contains more than 7.6 million entries. CINAHL Ultimate also offers content for training and study in the field of nursing. This includes short lessons, continuing education modules and evidence-based nursing information. The literature is indexed using a thesaurus, the ‘CINAHL Subject Headings’.
