Archives Unbound

Launched in 2009, the Archives Unbound database makes historical documents from microfilm collections of world-renowned libraries and archives accessible online. It currently offers 309 digitised collections (as of July 2020), each containing between 1,200 and 200,000 pages. Thematically, the content ranges from the Middle Ages and the witch hunts to World War II and 20th century political history. Collections on the following topics are available:

The collections are chosen based on requests from scholars, archivists, and students. Among others, material from the national archives of Great Britain and the USA, the Library of the London School of Economics and Political Science, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library, the Cornell University Library und der Library of Congress was made available.
