10000 Meisterwerke der Malerei

The selection of over 10,000 pictures by more than 1,600 painters offers an overview of the development of European and non-European painting from the beginnings to the beginning of classical modernism. In addition to the famous European masters at the center, such as Rafael, Rembrandt, Goya, Caspar David Friedrich and Cézanne, lesser-known artists from all art periods are also represented with a wide selection of works. This is supplemented by an overview of the work of masters from the Egyptian, American, Arab, Chinese, Indian and Japanese cultural circles, as well as some examples from the early history of humanity. Information about the paintings can be researched under various aspects: title, dates of creation, dimensions, painting technique, artist, dates of birth, places of work, current location or collection locations.
